Sun Microsystems Federal has released Trusted Solaris 2.5, a new version of its secure operating system. It offers advanced multithreading and support for symmetric multiprocessing. Sun says Trusted Solaris 2.5 is the first trusted system to use the Common Desktop Environment (CDE), a standardized interface, and can be customized for different security requirements. It is designed for government, commercial and financial institutions involved in Internet commerce.
