Tandem Computers announced for its second fiscal quarter a net income of $26 million, or 22 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $49.6 million last year, which included $52 million in restructuring charges. Income included a 1 cent a share gain from the sale of discontinued operations. Revenues slipped to $467 million from $470 million last year. This is the company's fourth consecutive quarter of growth and Tandem says it is due to cutbacks in R&D and general expenses.
