Short Take: Portland 'open access' suit slated for April

AT&T's lawsuit against the city of Portland, Oregon, and surrounding Multnomah County is slated to open in U.S. District Court in late April, according to city staff members. Both AT&T and the Oregon governments have filed motions for summary judgment and a motion to dismiss the case by Portland officials is awaiting a ruling. AT&T filed the case when Oregon officials attempted to impose a requirement that competitors be allowed "open access" to use AT&T's cable TV wires.
