NYSERNet, one of the oldest Internet consortia in the United States, has named Dr. Timothy Lance chairman of the board. Dr. David Lytel, who served as an expert adviser in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during the first Clinton administration, has been named president. The consortia was created in 1985 to provide Internet connectivity for colleges and universities in New York state.
