Short Take: NSI to get payments for domains up front

Network Solutions (NSI) will start collecting prepayment from all partners, resellers and consumers for domain name sales starting March 9, 2000. NSI is coming up to speed with competing registrars that already have to take prepayment, a measure that is expected to curb "cybersquatting," the practice of holding droves of domain names and trying to resell them to the highest bidder.
