Short Take: NEC's Benson to step down

NEC Technologies president and CEO Jerry Benson will resign from the company, effective at the end of the month. NEC Technologies, a subsidiary of NEC, divested itself from the PC maker last year by selling off its assets to Packard Bell. Benson recently spent time reorganizing the company in the aftermath of the sale. His successor has yet to be named. In May the company expects to announce a new strategic direction. Benson said he wants run a start-up company.
