Short Take: N.C. credit union offers PC package to low-income families

The Local Government Credit Union, which offers financial services to city and county employees in North Carolina, has created a program called "My PC." Together with Toshiba, Xerox, DP Connections and Ingram Micro, the credit union is offering Internet-ready, name-brand home PCs, printers and monitors to credit union members and low-income families for less than $800. My PC offers individuals a 500-MHz, Internet-ready Toshiba desktop PC with a 15-inch color monitor, color printer and one-year on-site warranty.
