Short Take: Macintosh gets new peripherals, upgrades

Newer Technology announced the uTV USB video capture peripheral, which offers video capture and audio in/out as well as TV tuner connections for any USB factory-equipped Macintosh or Windows 95 or 98 computer. The first shipments of uTV will begin in April and the estimated street price should be less than $150. The company also announced the MAXpowr G3-L2B series of G3 processor upgrades which plug into into the Level 2 cache slot of a variety of Power Macs systems. The card is offered in both 300-MHz and 400-MHz versions, with 512KB or 1MB of backside cache and will be available in late March for an estimated street price of between $,399 and $1,099.
