Short Take: Linuxcare names new financial chief

Linuxcare, a company that provides technical support for Linux software and hardware, appointed Anthony Pollace as its first chief financial officer. Pollace most recently worked as a partner at the financial services company David Powell Incorporated, where he acted as acting chief financial officer for start-ups and other firms. Though appointing a CFO is sometimes a sign of preparation for an initial public offering of stock, Linuxcare has said that such plans aren't imminent. Linuxcare also named Pat Lambs as vice president of service solutions, Thomas Phillips as vice president of worldwide sales, and Joseph Longo as general manager of professional services.
