Short Take: Level 3, COLT share Euro network costs

Level 3 Communications, a telecommunications carrier focused on transporting Internet-based traffic, said it will share the costs of its European network construction with COLT Telecom Group, a British communications company. Under the agreement the two companies will own multiple conduits on COLT's planned 1,600-mile network in Germany and on Level 3's 2,000-mile proposed European network. Level 3 expects to begin service by September 2000.
