Short Take: IBM wins Finnish supercomputer bid

IBM has been selected by the Finnish Supercomputing Center in Helsinki to build the largest commercial supercomputer on the European continent. The contract also marks the first order for a computer based around the upcoming Power 4 microprocessor, which is due in late 2001. The computer will be activated in 2002.
