Short Take: Gateway invests $200 million in CMGI

Computer maker Gateway and CMGI, a diversified Internet operating company and the largest Lycos shareholder, announced that the two firms have formed a strategic alliance to seek out business and investment opportunities on the Internet. Gateway also agreed to invest $200 million for an ownership stake in CMGI. Gateway hopes the alliance will enhance its Internet and e-commerce presence and provide additional products and services to its clients.
