Short Take: eCompanies scores a fast $130 million

Internet incubator eCompanies raised more than $130 million for its venture capital fund in 60 days, one of the fastest yields ever for a new fund, the company said. Investors include Disney, EarthLink, Goldman Sachs, Sprint, Sun America, and others. The fund, managed by Steve Ledger and Tim Spicer, will make early stage investments in Internet companies hatched by eCompanies and in promising start-ups created on the outside, eCompanies said.
