Short Take: Desktop.com completes first wave of financing

Desktop.com, a start-up that plans to bring traditional desktop applications to the Net, said it has gained $29 million in its first round of financing from investment firms Accel Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, and Sequoia Capital.
