Short Take: BCE completes Teleglobe acquisition

BCE, Canada's largest telecommunications company, on Wednesday said it has completed the acquisition of Teleglobe after obtaining court approval. BCE--which offered in February to buy the outstanding 77 percent of the long-distance network service provider it did not already own--said it received approval from the Superior Court of Quebec to make the purchase. On Tuesday, Teleglobe shareholders approved the deal, which will see each Teleglobe common share exchanged for 0.907 of a BCE common share plus 10 Canadian cents in cash.
