Short Take: AristaSoft launches ASP service

AristaSoft, an application service provider (ASP) start-up targeting high-tech equipment makers, has launched its business software service with the help of strategic partnerships with Exodus Communications and Deloitte & Touche, which will provide data hosting and consulting services respectively. AristaSoft, which announced $30 million in funding from venture capital firms Warburg Pincus and Crosspoint Venture Partners, is one of several ASPs focused on selling outsourced information technology (IT) department functions to certain vertical industry segments.
