Short Take: AOL, others pump $45 million into Workscape

America Online, DaimlerChrysler and Sun Microsystems said they invested $45 million in Workscape, a technology company that specializes in building human resources portals. Workscape, based in Reston, Va., recently launched workplace portal Employee.com in a deal with General Motors and DaimlerChrysler. Other investors in the financing included venture capitalists ABS Capital Partners, HLM Management Company and E.M. Warburg Pincus.
