Short Take: 3Com pushes policy-based networking

3Com announced new plans to deliver on its vision for policy-based networking. By the third quarter, the firm will support LDAP on the client, followed by delivery of new Transcend Policy Manager and Server tools, directory support for Novell, Netscape Communications, and Siemens, and Dynamic Access software for non-3Com network cards by the fourth quarter. The company will extend its directory support to Microsoft's Active Directory by the first quarter of next year.
