Powersoft said today it plans to ship a version of its PowerBuilder development tool for Sun's Solaris operating system within 60 days. PowerBuilder Enterprise 5.0, already shipping on Macintosh and Windows, includes application partitioning tools that let developers distribute compiled PowerBuilder objects on servers and clients across a network. The Solaris version of the tool uses Sun's SPARCompiler to generate machine code for faster performance. The tool is priced at $2,995.
