Seagate to release 80GB drives

Seagate Technology on Monday will begin shipping hard drives with a capacity of up to 80GB. The "U Series" models are intended for use in high-end PCs and consumer devices such as digital video recorders, MP3 players and game consoles, according to Seagate. Features specifically geared toward consumers include fluid dynamic bearing motors, which greatly reduce noise from spinning disks inside the drive.
