Sony might have something up its sleeve, if recently leaked images and specs are to be believed.
Taiwan-based news site ePrice published images Tuesday of what it claims is the long-rumored Sony i1 Android-based smartphone. The device, believed to be codenamed "Honami," has popped up in rumors from time to time and is supposedly shipping this fall as Sony's flagship smartphone.
In addition publishing the images, ePrice reported that the device will come with a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a 20.7-megapixel camera, and a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The specs published by ePrice also indicate that the handset will feature near-field communication, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 2GB of RAM. It'll boast 16GB of storage.
Although the rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, since Sony hasn't confirmed it's even working on such a device, the specs match up with several earlier rumors surrounding the handset. In both April and May,.
