In a Newsmaker interview honoring the PC's 25th birthday, Intel Chairman Craig Barrett was ask to predict what the device will look like 25 years from now.
"Ten years ago, when we were thinking about what would the ideal laptop be today, nobody dared to think about something effectively not much bigger than a bunch of 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of paper stacked together, about a quarter of an inch thick, and having a full-color screen, weighing about a pound, all-day battery life, great graphics, etc.," he said.
"You know that was a dream 10 years ago (and) that's pretty much happened today. I can dream (that) 10 years from now we'll continue on those same lines. Maybe the dang thing will be flexible and you'll roll it up; it won't be a solid metal-encased entity."
