Pinterest wants to make it easier for you to find new people and brands.
The company on Tuesday launched a new section, called "Pinterest Explore," on its website and app that uses machine learning to show you what's trending on Pinterest. It also will show picks from "top tastemakers," industry experts and Pinterest employees.
Brands and publishers -- like Food Network, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, HGTV and National Geographic -- also will be able to share ideas and videos in the new section.
When you click on "Explore," you'll see "today's picks" with personalized recommendations. The first time you visit, they will be based on how you've used Pinterest in the past, but you can then customize which topics you see. Pinterest also now has native videos that play automatically. That includes autoplay video ads from brands like American Express, Macy's and Sony Pictures.
