PalmOne spreads out Treo update

Handheld maker PalmOne is making a software update for its Treo 600 devices widely available.

Handheld maker PalmOne announced on Wednesday it is making a software update for its Treo 600 devices widely available. The upgrade was initially meant only for those who owned a Sprint version of the device, while other carriers tested the software. The update is now available for phones used on the networks of AT&T Wireless, Cingular, Orange, Rogers Wireless, T-Mobile USA and other carriers outside the United States. The free software improves the performance of reliability of the combination cell phone and organizer device, PalmOne said.
