PalmOne exec Mendez to leave for Cisco

He will remain senior vice president of global operations until the end of the current quarter, software maker said.

Handheld maker PalmOne said this week that its senior vice president and head of global operations, Angel Mendez, has resigned to join Cisco Systems, where he will serve as senior vice president of worldwide manufacturing.

Mendez came to Palm from Gateway in July 2001, becoming the company's senior vice president of global operations. He will keep his position at PalmOne until the end of the current quarter to ensure a smooth transition, according to the company, which is already searching for a successor.
