We don't think we've ever been so excited for a giant monster film as we are for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. Giant alien sea monsters, giant mech and GLaDOS? Oh, heck yeah. The story, from what we've ascertained from trailers, is that giant monsters, called Kaiju, have been sleeping under the sea for millennia before waking up to scourge the Earth of the human parasites. In retaliation, humans create the Jaeger mech — giant robotic suits that are remotely controlled by two human operators.

There's even a Jaeger designed specifically to protect the Australian coast, the Striker Eureka.

So far, the Striker Eureka has been seen gracing a poster with the Opera House in the background; now, it's bashing up the Harbour Bridge to get to a Kaiju.

To find out more about the film, watch the most recent (and amazing!) trailer below, and don't forget to hit up the Pan Pacific Defense website to join the PPD yourself.
