Oracle ties security to workflow server

Company releases updated Web services security product that's integrated with its business process workflow server.

Oracle on Wednesday said that it has released an updated Web services security product that is integrated with its business process workflow server.

The company acquired Oblix last year, which had tools for authorizing a person's network access as well as securing machine-to-machine communication through Web services protocols. The re-branded Web services security software, now called Oracle Web Services Manager, is designed to authorize and secure transfer of data between separate Web services programs. With the latest version, Oracle has created ties to its BPEL Process Manager server. The integration between its security and process manager software will allow administrators to set security policies on Web services applications that run on both Oracle and other application servers, executives said.
