Optus has announced the immediate availability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, offering the new Android tablet on plans starting from AU$39 per month.
At this price, Optus customers get 2GB of data for every month on a two-year contract; an AU$958.80 minimum spend in total. The Samsung tablet runs on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform, but, unlike the recently released Galaxy S III smartphone, it doesn't have quad-core processing. Instead, the Tab 2 makes use of a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, with 1GB of RAM in support.
The Tab 2 is only the third tablet available through Optus at this time, with the older Acer Iconia A501 and Dell Streak 7 also available in-store. Online retailers are also selling the Tab 2, with Mobicity selling imported 3G + Wi-Fi stock for AU$599 at the time of writing.
