Odds and Ends: TechTool Pro delayed; LaCie Porsche drives recalled; Knowledge Base Updates

TechTool Pro delayed According to the Micromat web site, the long awaited OS X version of Tech Tool Pro, previously scheduled release sometime in October, is now slated for a November debut.

LaCie Porsche drives recalled Yesterday we covered a MacZone statement that LaCie was recalling their new Porsche-designed FireWire hard drives. Two MacFixIt readers report, independently, that they have received confirmation of the recall from LaCie.

(Ron Poynter) "Called Lacie today. They are recalling the Porsche firewire drives. You can either exchange for their d2 model or wait for the Porsche model in November."

(Michael Pemulis) "They are definitely recalling them - I bought mine directly from LaCie. Last week they called and said that there is a problem "with the logic board." The wanted the drive back ASAP. In return they shipped me one of the current D2 drives."
