Odds and Ends: Potential Mac OS X DHCP security issue

William Carrel says he has discovered and detailed a security flaw in Mac OS X's handling of DHCP that can result in root access being granted. As described, the problem occurs through "a series of seemingly innocuous default settings can cause an affected Mac OS X machine to trust a malicious machine on a network for user, group, and volume mounting settings."
