Nextel gets into voice-activated e-mail

Nextel Communications is selling a way for its corporate subscribers to access e-mails using cell phones. The service provides wireless access to both Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes message programs. The service is specifically meant for businesses hoping to add wireless capabilities to the work force. For larger businesses hoping to run the entire program from their own computers, it will cost $1,995 for the software, plus a monthly subscription. Or, companies can get the service at a cost of $24.95 to $49.95 per user per month.
