Ever dreamed of being an astronaut on a mission to explore deep space? You may soon get the chance, sort of, thanks to an upcoming video game that turns gamers into astronauts exploring the infinite, ever-expanding universe.
No Man's Sky, one of the most ambitious games of 2015, is a space exploration title with a seemingly endless universe for gamers to explore. Hello Games, the studio behind No Man's Sky, released a new trailer on Monday that gives viewers a better look at the beautiful universe it's creating and what gamers can expect in terms of gameplay.
In the clip, we see several of the locations that can be explored, from an underwater environment filled with sea creatures to planet surfaces with all sorts of wildlife, like deer-looking creatures, dinosaurs and even some robots. And what space exploration game would be complete without starship travel? The new trailer shows what starship exploration and battles will look like.
No Man's Sky is a sci-fi game with an infinite, procedurally generated galaxy, meaning most elements are algorithmically generated every time a planet is explored rather than being fixed. That approach results in an astounding number of planets and galaxies to explore, harvest, and, if you feel like it, wreak havoc on -- so the trailer only begins to scratch the surface of what gamers will see once the game finally lands.
The game will launch on PC and Sony's PlayStation 4 when it eventually comes out, but no release date has yet been announced. More information on the game's availability should be out in coming weeks. For now, watch the trailer above as you prepare yourself to explore the vast, beautiful universe that is No Man's Sky.
