New tool makes networking a snap

Snap-In Softools develops a new tool for Novell NetWare servers that makes it easy for administrators to distribute and manage files over local area networks.

Snap-In Softools announced a new tool for Novell NetWare servers that makes it easy for administrators to distribute and manage files over local area networks.

AutoAttendant 2.0 is a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) that snaps into the network operating system's administration tool, NWAdmin. Through AutoAttendant an administrator can distribute files or software updates across a network.

"The administrator only needs to maintain the files on one server," said Joe Waldygo, president and CEO of Snap-In Softools.

AutoAttendant automates the process of software distribution for NLMs, software updates, Microsoft Windows documents, graphics images, and HTML files. The product also can be tuned to perform functions at a specific time.

These distribution functions can be performed between NetWare 3.x, 4.x, Novell Web Server, and IntranetWare file servers.

Snap-In AutoAttendant 2.0 for NetWare 4.x will be available in mid-November with prices starting at $99 for one server. Snap-In AutoAttendant agent software version 2.0 for NetWare 3.x will debut in late November at a cost of $59 per server. A free 30-day evaluation copy is available at the company's Web site.
