New midsize Inspirons from Dell

New midsize Inspirons from Dell

Today Dell announced that it is following up the midsize Inspiron 6000 with two updated models, the Inspiron E1505 for consumers and the Inspiron 6400 for small-business users. The new laptops will include a 15.4-inch display with a choice of WXGA or WSXGA+ native resolutions and these component options:

  • Intel Core Duo and Core Solo processors from 1.66GHz to 2GHz
  • 512MB (up to 2GB) shared 533MHz DDR2 memory
  • Intel Integrated GMA 950 graphics
  • Serial ATA hard drives from 40GB to 120GB
  • DVD/CD-RW drive or a dual-layer DVD burner
  • 802.11a/b/g wireless and optional Bluetooth.
The primary difference between the two models will be the standard warranty (the Inspiron 6400, like most business systems, will be backed by a longer warranty); an additional differentiator will be the software bundle, with the Inspiron E1505 focused on media and entertainment applications.

Pricing starts at $929, and both new Inspirons are available now.
