New Lego Jurassic World trailer shows off playable dinos

A new trailer for the upcoming Lego video game, which will span all four "Jurassic Park" movies, gives us a look at raptors duelling dinosaurs.

Playing as the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park might sound like a recipe for an all-too-easy video game, but that hasn't swayed the makers of Lego Jurassic World from teasing some of the playable beasts in its upcoming dino-thon.

The trailer above, released to drum up excitement ahead of the game's June release, provides a detailed look at the range of dinosaurs that will make an appearance. A Velociraptor can be seen assembling something technical out of Lego blocks, as a Triceratops speeds through a landscape crowded with battling dinosaurs.

All your favourite scaly faces are on show, from the teeny Compsognathus in "The Lost World" to the Spinosaurus that controversially appeared in "Jurassic Park 3" (well, controversial to me anyway -- seriously Hollywood, when you need to 'one-up' the Tyrannosaurus Rex, you have lost your way). The trailer also makes clear that gamers can expect plenty of original audio from the movies, as well as a dollop of the Lego video games' slapstick humour.

Although the name capitalises on the upcoming Hollywood dino-stravaganza, Lego Jurassic World spans all four "Jurassic Park" films. The new title is the latest in a long-running series of franchised Lego games that have included Lego Lord of the Rings and Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

Like previous Lego video games, Lego Jurassic World will see you switching back and forth between playable characters, utilising the minifigs' special abilities to bulldoze your way through puzzles. We've already had the chance to play through a few levels of Lego Jurassic World, so be sure to read our in-depth preview , which will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Lego Jurassic World was developed by Traveller's Tales and is due out in June for Xbox One , Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 , PlayStation 3, Wii U , PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
