Ahead of its release later this month, Bandai Namco has published a new trailer for Dark Souls III's first expansion, Ashes of Ariandel.
The focus of this trailer is the expansion's new player-versus-player content. The trailer invites players to "embrace the darkness...together." It's set to the song "Ain't No Devil" by Andrea Wasse, Morgan Dorr and Timothy Blakey Healy.
Ashes of Ariandel has more than PvP content. "Players will find themselves steeped in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, challenges, and exciting lore to expand the overarching Dark Souls III storyline," Bandai Namco explained when it announced Ashes of Ariandel.
Players will also get new weapons, armor sets, and magic elements. For more on the DLC, check out GameSpot's video feature.
Due out on October 25, Ashes of Ariandel is the first of two DLC expansions planned for Dark Souls III and costs $15 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It's also included with the game's $25 season pass. The second expansion is expected in early 2017.
The game represents a "turning point" for the Dark Souls franchise, according to creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. He doesn't plan to make any more games in the series, though new entries without his involvement have not been ruled out.
Miyazaki's next project has not been announced. Last month, he confirmed that developer From Software is working on a new Armored Core and a "weird" game.
