MSNBC expands mobile news service

News site MSNBC.com says it has inked a deal with wireless provider Digital Paths to deliver news to mobile device customers. Under the deal, MSNBC.com will create a channel that features news highlights from sections such as business, sports, health, technology, living and travel, weather and opinions. In turn, Digital Paths will make the channel available to customers through its browser and wireless portal. The portal lets a handheld user access any Web address and retrieve data and e-mail in a format automatically configured to that person's device. MSNBC.com said the deal is part of its efforts to increase the reach of its Mobile Internet news services.
