Online magazine Slate has agreed to provide content to the opinion section of MSNBC.com, an Internet news site owned by Microsoft and General Electric's NBC. The MSNBC.com opinion section will be renamed "Opinions with Slate" and feature journalists such as Michael Kinsley, Jacob Weisberg, and David Plotz. The companies said Slate, also a Microsoft-owned company, will retain its branding and links to Slate.com.
In a separate announcement, MSNBC.com said it plans this month to launch online personals from Lavalife, a provider of technology-based dating services. The co-branded section will provide site visitors with Lavalife's personal ads, community services and relationship advice in MSNBC.com's Living section.
