In response to the Oct. 29 Perspectives column by Robert Lemos, "Home isn't where security is"
Great article. I own a computer store and after the last attack we had (last week on Monday) we saw a ton of end users come screaming through our doors.
There is something bigger here than most people realize. I had four machines brought in with their drives wiped clean the night of the attack. The users all saw a blue screen and rebooted only to find their operating system was gone.
If you look at the bigger picture, maybe something else is going on. It's not every day that we have as many machines come in for Internet-related stuff in one day. Nope. Something is wrong with this whole picture.
