Sony released on Wednesday the MGS-X1, a digital-audio player for cars that uses Memory Stick flash memory cards to store songs. The $380 device, which can be mounted to a car dashboard, plays music that has been downloaded from a PC onto a Memory Stick.
Memory Stick is a removable flash-memory format developed by Sony that can hold digital content, such as audio and video. Memory Stick slots are being incorporated into other portable devices, such as handheld computers and digital cameras. Memory Stick cards are available in 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB and 128MB capacities.
