Normal teddy bears are cute, but wouldn't you'd rather hug a creature that's adorable and helped take down an evil empire.
Starting next week at Build-A-Bear workshops in the US and the UK and online at Buildabear.com worldwide, Star Wars fans can make their own 16-inch version of Wicket the Ewok from 1983's "Return of the Jedi," the retailer announced Thursday.
The 16-inch Ewok retails for $28 (about £20, AU$35). You can add an Ewok sound chip for an additional $7 so your plush Wicket yells "Yub Nub" if you hug him too tightly.
If you're too impatient to make your own, you can buy a 10-inch ready-made mini Ewok for $12.50 (about £10, AU$15) at Build-A-Bear stores.
The Ewoks played a key part in "Return of the Jedi," though they remain a divisive issue among some fans. Many accuse franchise creator George Lucas of designing and featuring the Ewoks to simply sell merchandise to younger fans.
It might be best for the Ewok enthusiasts among us to not get too attached to their new plush pal, given the species' penchant for eating people. They didn't tie up Han Solo over a fire pit just to keep him warm. He was a human Pop Tart to the Ewoks until C-P30 saved the day.
