Macromedia updates Java software

Software maker Macromedia on Monday released a new version of JRun, its server software for running Web applications written in the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) language. Besides support for the current 1.3 version of the J2EE standard, JRun 4 includes new clustering features based on Sun Microsystems' Jini language, allowing one server to instantly take over for another in case of failure. JRun 4 costs $899 per CPU and is available for download now from Macromedia.
