Linux NetworX signs French partner

Linux NetworX, which makes low-cost "Beowulf" supercomputers out of interconnected Linux servers, has signed a deal to have its systems sold in France, the company said Tuesday. Athena Global Services will sell the systems. Linux NetworX, a Salt Lake City company, earlier signed a deal to have Best Systems sell the supercomputers in Japan. But Linux NetworX faces pressure: IBM, Dell, Compaq and others have begun to sell their own competing Beowulf designs.
