That'll come as good news to the 790 owners of the phone who've signed an online petition urging LG to do something about the bugs, which make the 2X randomly freeze and reboot.
European users will be first to receive the update, with Americans next in line.
The 2X was one of the first phones to pack in a dual-core processor. Its chip should make the interface and apps snappy and responsive -- if only the software would just behave itself. Indeed, we pitted the 2X againstlast month, and found that it was let down by its flaky software.
There's no good reason for LG's phone to perform sluggishly, despite the fact it'sthe Android 2.2 Froyo. If this software update doesn't drastically improve matters, there are going to be some very cross users beating a path to LG's door.
