The show follows developers hoping to score funding to make their app the next big thing.

You're an app developer and aspiring entrepreneur. Who do you go to for council? Jessica Alba, duh.

The actress has joined Apple's reality "Planet of the Apps" show as a mentor and adviser to app developers who are competing for funding, reports Variety. She joins Gwyneth Paltrow and will.i.am as the third celebrity to be attached to the show.

Alba may seem a strange choice, but she brings more to the show than just a familiar face. We've seen less and less of her in Tinseltown in recent years because she's been busy building a billion dollar business. The Honest Company, co-founded by Alba, is a maker of non-toxic household products that was last year valued at $1.7 billion.

Announced in March, "Planet of the Apps" follows real-life app devs as they look to create the next killer app, meeting potential backers and tech experts along the way.
