Apple is considering this model among more than 10 other prototypes so a curved OLED screen is not a sure thing, according to the same sources. However, an OLED screen could be the company's attempt to reverseas the iPhone gets set to mark its 10th anniversary next year.
LED screens currently dominate the smartphone market. But,, OLED is on the rise, most prominently with the recently released Google Pixel phone. Such screens mean higher image quality and thinner phone bodies because they don't require back lights.
Apple did not immediately return CNET's request for comment.
