Internet monitor sees the big picture

Optimal Networks' Internet Monitor helps system administrators evaluate the impact of the Internet craze on their networks.

Optimal Networks will announce an enhanced version of its Internet monitoring tool next week that features access to Internet usage reports via a Web browser, eliminating the need for a dedicated management console.

Internet Monitor 1.1 runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT and allows administrators to collect, analyze, and report Internet and intranet usage on corporate networks. Administrators can take that information and use it to understand and evaluate the impact of the Internet craze on their networks.

The tool also includes support for Netscape Communications Navigator 3.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, as well as Windows NT 4.0.

Other new features include automatic identification of company Web servers and individual addresses, offering an administrator a clear view of the network.

Internet Monitor 1.1 is available now for $1,500.
