Infineon to upgrade plant

Infineon plans to spend $263 million by year's end on one of its three chipmaking plants in Malaysia. The investment will go toward purchase of new equipment, upgrade of facilities, and the hiring of new workers for the plant in the Krubong Industrial Park in the state of Malacca. Previously known as Siemens Components, Infineon is a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens. CNET Malaysia reported from Malacca.
