Uber is hitting the gas on its self-driving car project.
So are a fleet of driver-less Uber cars on their way across the nation? No. Uber's only other pilot city is Pittsburgh, and there's still tons of regulatory red tape to clear up before self-driving cars become a real thing. Also, each car will have a "safety driver" just in case.
We also discuss the tech roundtable that President-elect Donald Trump is holding, and note that Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and Elon Musk have joined Trump's transition team.
The 3:59 gives you bite-size news and analysis about the top stories of the day, brought to you by the CNET News team in New York and producer Bryan VanGelder.
