'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' jets our heroes into the future

The hot tub is back, and it's ready to travel. Watch the new trailer for "Hot Tub Time Machine 2," which brings the group to the future to save the present. Warning: a few mild NSFW moments.

The 2010 cult sci-fi hit "Hot Tub Time Machine" is getting a sequel, and based on the new trailer for the film, it looks to be just as funny and over the top as the original.

For the uninitiated, "Hot Tub Time Machine" saw a group of down-on-their-luck guys stumble across a hot tub time machine that takes them back to the year 1986. Their main quest is to make sure the twentysomething of the group, Jacob, ends up being born. Of course, many hilarious temptations lure them off that path, but they manage to accomplish the mission in the end.

It looks like we can expect more of the same raunchy comedy from "Hot Tub Time Machine 2," though John Cusack is replaced with Adam Scott of "Parks and Recreation" and Gillian Jacobs of "Community" has joined the cast as well.

In the trailer, the group gleefully jumps into the time machine once more, with one of them declaring that this time he's going to invent yoga pants. But instead of being taken to the past, they end up in the future to save one of the group's members, the self-proclaimed inventor of the Internet, from being shot.

While the original "Hot Tub" movie had both fans and detractors, it looks like "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" will actually be a lot of fun, and I'm cautiously optimistic about taking another dip.

Where and when will the hot tub time machine take our heroes in the sequel? "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" is expected to land in theaters on January 15, 2015 in Australia, followed by a global release that includes the US in February and the UK in April.
